Mechanical Engineer - Filtration and Water Equipment - Houston, Texas

Mueller Water is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the commercialization and development of filtration and water equipment and control systems for our Institutional RD&E team, with a specific focus on the healthcare and hospitality markets.


What's In It For You:
This role supports the development, design, and commercialization of mechanical, sensor, and system technologies tailored for the healthcare and hospitality sectors. You will lead projects that support new product introductions and drive our innovation pipeline. This engineer will define requirements, test new technologies, and mobilize cross-functional teams, including marketing, regulatory, and supply chain partners. You will also help maintain the existing portfolio of filtration and water equipment and be a technical resource for our sales team and customers.


What You Will Be Doing:

  • Plan, lead, and execute new product development projects focused on the healthcare and hospitality markets.
  • Test, analyze, and evaluate new filtration and water technologies and customer offerings.
  • Maintain our filtration and water equipment portfolio through production and supply optimization projects.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional partners, including shared engineering, marketing, regulatory affairs, supply chain, training, technical service, and sales associates.
  • Lead the development of new sensor and data solutions to enhance water quality and value in healthcare and hospitality settings.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 2 years of relevant work experience in design or product development.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • No Immigration Sponsorship Available.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with engineering design and analysis tools (e.g., Solidworks).
  • Project management and leadership experience and skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple tasks.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies and standards (e.g., NSF, UL).
